Show & Tell Friday

It's Friday and time for Kelli's Show & Tell. Won't you stop by and join in the fun?

And for those of you who left a comment at last week's Show & Tell post, I wish to say, "Thank you." I sent the box of goodies to Lily and it will be hand-delivered by my niece.

Now for today...I'll be sharing my beautiful bouquet of Spring flowers. And in case you don't know, we're having lots of snow where I live so this is a wonderful little reminder that Spring is coming!

Here's a little background....This week my activities included hosting an overnight guest, a Sunday lunch with six extra guests, and catering a Homemade Soup and Sandwich luncheon for about 50 hungry men attending our regional conference on Tuesday.

My friend Linda came to help and together we made two giant stock pots of Vegetable Beef Soup and Turkey & Ham Sandwiches with all the fixin's. It took us about 3 hours (which included two games of Skip-Bo!) and I learned a few things.

Did you know you can cut up stew meat with an electric knife? It sure went a lot faster than with my butcher knife.

Did you know, to keep sandwiches fresh when taking them to a function you can place a damp paper towel over the top of the sandwiches and then cover with plastic wrap? I was amazed at how fresh they tasted!

Now on Wednesday, after the flurry of activity, I had some free time so I chose to use it napping near the woodstove. And without me waking up, my husband arrived home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers to show his love and appreciation for all my hard work. He cut the ends and arranged them for me in one of my favorite vases.

When I did wake up, I went upstairs and the first thing I noticed was the huge bouquet on the dining room table! It took my breath away.

Fortunately, I read this earlier in the week and I must say, I have an even greater appreciation for these flowers! I love my Good Man.

Aren't they gorgeous? I am so spoiled.

Purple is my favorite colour and there were bunches of them! It's funny how the different lighting makes the purple look blue. I love them anyway!

They smell so 'Alive.' They remind me of my flower garden in the summer.

It means so much that you took the time to view my Show & Tell today. I would be pleased if you left a comment to let me know that you were here.

Blessings,
Jessica

Thanks so much for sharing the photos of those beautiful flowers. What a welcomed sight. All I see outside is bare trees and piles of snow. Only 2 1/2 months to go until it melts.
