Show & Tell Friday - Artwork

It's time for Show & Tell Friday hosted by
Kelli at There's No Place Like Home.

I promised some artwork for you last week and here it is! After spending an hour looking for my paint brushes (it had been a long time....), I spread out my painting supplies and got to work. I used my laptop to listen to the GOP convention speeches while working on my project.

What was my project? Here it is. It's a 'bag box.' This is where I store all my plastic grocery bags. I push them down from the top and....

when I need to reuse one, I pull it out from the bottom.

I had painted the ivy around the edges about 3 years ago but the center panel was blank. (Actually, it probably has about 6 coats of different coloured paint, because it takes me a loooooong time to decide what I like.) But ever since I did my little kitchen makeover, I knew I'd be adding a few sunflowers to finish it off. I used a pattern from an old Donna Dewberry book that my friend gave me...she always has such nice and natural looking flowers.

I never have to go looking for grocery bags now because I have the box hanging on my kitchen wall. It looks like part of the decor!

So now I need to know, do you still use plastic bags or do you bring your own canvas style bags for grocery day?

Your bag holder is very cute. Yes, we still use plastic bags. My husband "collects" them. He likes them for taking out to the garbage can everyday instead of using a bigger bag. He will stick them everywhere if I don't watch him. He will be a very sad man when they go completely away.

I love your bag holder, you are a very talented painter, we do not use plastic bags here we have our own reusable canvas bags , I love my bag it just goes right back in my car when I am done with it, but sometimes if I forget to put it back in the car we have to use plastic which can also come in handle to put things in what a great show and tell have a blessed weekend....

I love your bag holder! Much prettier than what I use. I hate to admit but we are half and half on using the plastic bags or reusable bags. I still use the plastic bags for disposing daily what I scoop out of the litter box. They tie nicely and out the door immediately!

I wanted to add, I went back and looked at your 're-model' and your sunflower garland is so cheery! The plastic bag bin fits perfectly!

you have a talent! Your bag holder is very pretty!

We are still using plastic bags as well. I go grocery shopping twice a month so I get a lot of groceries at once.

It's so beautiful, Jessica!! Yes, I still use plastic bags. Don't tell anyone..hehehe. I reuse them for lining the smaller garbage buckets in the house, cat litter and the doggie "you know what" in the back yard. LOL
