Show & Tell Friday

Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.

This week I'd like to share some pictures of the lilies that grow in my backyard. I'm a beginner at gardening so whenever the plants in my garden actually have blossoms I get excited and this summer is no exception.

I have two varieties of lilies but both are the same colour - by accident! The first set of pictures are of my Asian lilies. Yesterday was the first day the blossoms began to open and there are many more to come. I've had to contend with a little red beetle who want to destroy all the leaves this year but so far I'm winning!

This plant gets pretty tall - about 4 1/2 feet!

This next set of photos are of my day lilies. Their orange colour is a bit more muted but vibrant just the same. They also are very tall - about 5 feet.

These have turned out to be some of my favorite spots in the garden because of their hardiness and predictability. I wouldn't mind a bit if they spread everywhere!

Thanks for taking the time to visit a portion of my flower garden.

Blessings,

Jessica

I love flowers. I have Day Lilies that are blooming now, but they are the smaller ones that don't get real tall.
Your colors are beautiful.

I have grown two of these Asian Lilies for the first time this year. Can you tell me what to do with the bulbs after flowering has finished, I grew them in tubs on my patio. The flowers are lovely, I love your pictures.

Your Lilies are beautiful. I can't seem to find them in time at my local nurseries. My neighbor has three varieties and they are beautiful.

I may have to order online which I have never done before.

The lilies are gorgeous. I have orchids but they are finished blooming for now. They usually bloom in January, February, and March.

Beautiful lilies. I always think of the verse from Matthew in the Bible..."Consider the lilies".
