Today was beautiful. After having nearly 8 inches of Fresh Snow on new year's eve, it was sunny skies today. I have to admit one of my favorite things about Fresh Snow is that it covers up all the mud that inevitably comes after the plows and salt have hit the streets.
And today was a perfect reminder how the new year can also mean a Fresh Start. In that vein, I took a few minutes today to look over my collection of daily devotionals that have accumulated on my bookshelf over the years. For this year I settled on Oswald Chambers', "My Utmost for His Highest." My mother gave it to me a couple of years ago for Christmas when she was visiting and I'm looking forward my daily visits with this gem.
I also have a daily desk calendar that was given to me last year by my sister in law for Christmas. It's called, "Life's good, day by day" and it's a treasure chest full of Home Helps, Family Fun, Little Thoughts, Bible Promises, and Simple Recipes interspersed throughout the days of the year.
More than once this little calendar has encouraged my heart and I'm so thankful for my thoughtful sister in law who knew it would be just what I needed.
So, with these little helpers, I'll be enjoying my Fresh Start to 2008.
I'd really like to know what helps you stay on track and what works for you so why don't you share how you plan to make the most of your Fresh Start by leaving your tips and ideas in the comments section?
Blessings on your new year,
Jessica

Hi Jessica,
I wanted to pop over and thank you for your nice comment. I can imagine that a PEI calendar would be a wonderful one to have. My girls and I have always wanted to visit PEI, and maybe one day we can. In fact, I told my husband that I wanted to go there for our 20th anniversary in 2009. I doubt I'll get my wish, but it never hurts to dream big! LOL
I enjoyed reading your 'Fresh Start' post, and you gave me lots to think about...not to mention some great ideas for devotional books. When I have more time, I'll pop back over and share some of my 'Fresh Start' ideas...I'll be noodlin' my noggin'! LOL
Once again, thanks for your comment, and I look forward to coming back~
Have a blessed day!
Amy
Beautiful picture of the snow, Jessica. So peaceful. I have been brain storming my "fresh start" ideas and hope to have everything sorted out by Monday! LOL
Hugs,
Kelli
I have enjoyed the photos. Are they your own work, or do you go online and get them like I usually do?
