Show & Tell Friday

Please join in for today's Show & Tell hosted by Kelli at There's No Place Like Home.

What you will see today are memories of the most beautiful African violet that I have ever had in my possession. Three years ago one of my precious sisters in law wanted me to have this simple potted plant and I was thrilled to have it. I know some of you might be thinking, "what's the big deal?" But the fact that she knew I was trying to improve my green thumb abilities and provided me an avenue to practice those abilities was just awesome.

Isn't it stunning? (click on the photos for a close up)

The petals are a delicate purple colour and the leaves are such a vibrant dark green. I love flashy flowers!

The bad news is that this gem has not survived the long term life I desire for it to have.

The good news is I live in the era of the digital camera and this little beauty will live on forever (or at least until my computer crashes)!

So thank you once again for taking the time to see my Show & Tell. Please let me know you stopped by and if you have an African violet tip please, please, please leave it in the comments. I desperately want to try again!

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Thanks for sharing it though.

Beautiful! I had a couple, and the leaves did fine, but once the flowers died off it never grew new flowers. I don't know why. I don't have a green thumb at all.

What a beautiful color.
I have several african violets. None of them are blooming now, not sure why. Maybe the violet food I'm feeding them.
Blessings

Beautiful! My mom had an African violet for several years. She used a special African violet pot and food. It loved her sunny window. Enjoy your next plant!

Love the African Violet pictures. I tried planting some years ago, but was never successful. I am glad to hear that you are wanting to try it again.

Beautiful. I had several African Violets that did well for quite awhile, but they are all gone to violet heaven now.
Thanks for visiting my S & T and for the lovely comment you made. I have a Madam Alexander doll that I got for Christmas in 1942. I was 6 years old. I did a post about it back in January.
Hope you can stop back by my blog to read about our new Spiritual Sundays blog.
Have a great weekend.

Thank-you for visiting me it was nice that you stopped in to say hello. Th only tip I have is the African violet that someone else already mentioned. I had a friend that use to make them. She did all kinds of ceramics. I would like to ask you to stop by my blog when you have a chance because there is going to be an EXCITING new blog. It is called Spiritual Sundays, I would love for you to read about it so you can join in on Sundays. It's like show and tell Friday.
Let me know what you think.
Good luck on finding a African violet pot, you may be able to find them online as well.
Blessings,
ginger

I'm so sorry I forgot to mention the next time you make Biscotti,I would love to see how you make it. I have always wanted to try but I guess I think it is way to hard for me.It is so expensive to buy so it is truly a treat for me.
Thank-you

Hi Jessica ~ What a pretty African violet! Sorry, I have no tips to pass along...my poor peace lily often hovers between life & death when I forget to water it! LOL

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. Nope, I didn't think anything of it that you linked to Deena! The two of us have been in touch by e-mail :)

Have a lovely day!

Blessings :)

What beautiful photos! You could make them into post cards or note cards! You never know you may revive the plant and it will live on! I don't have any tips but do hope to see more pictures of it on here.

Love your scripture quote!
