Show & Tell Friday

Welcome to this week's Show & Tell so generously hosted by Kelli. I'm joining a bit late in the day because I wanted to tell you about the "Girl's Get-together" I hosted this morning.

Since last week I've been planning a simple "Getting to Know You" coffee/tea time. Initially, I invited a couple of ladies new to our church as well as another one who has been there for a couple of years. As it turned out, one of the ladies also brought her mother along who was visiting from out of town.

I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time to prepare Thursday night because I was conducting our ladies' monthly Bible study and fellowship, so I kept the menu simple. I served coffee, tea, and refreshing lemonade, as well as a delicious Sour Cream Coffee Cake which I baked this morning.

I also served a small chocolate cake which I had decorated at our cake decorating demonstration the night before. If you can't read it, I wrote the word "Fun" and added some puffy balloons.

Here is our table setting.....

In the center I placed a basket with gifts that they could take home. I included some personally wrapped Hershey nugget chocolates, a sachet of herbal teas, and a package of purse size kleenex.

Our visit was especially enjoyable and it was clear no one was in a hurry to leave. What a blessing it was to me to be able to have a way to express my love for my new friends.

Blessings,
Jessica

Well if that was something you got together without any time to plan... I wonder what you would prepare with time to plan???? That looks very nice, good job!

It's obvious that one of your Spiritull Gifts is hospitality! You went to a lot of effort and detail to make it special for them and I'm sure it was genuinely appreciated! I liked the little gifts that you gave away!
