Christmas Treats for My Neighbors

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see my Christmas home tour. I appreciate all your comments.

This evening I'd like to share with you what you'd be getting for Christmas if you lived in my neighborhood. A few months ago I subscribed to Seasonal Delights Online Magazine published by Kelli at There's No Place Like Home. As part of the bonus I got a beautiful recipe for making Gourmet Caramel Apples. I loved the idea so much that I immediately began making plans to incorporate making these delicious snacks at our next Ladies meeting.

When everyone saw how easy they were to assemble they couldn't wait to design their own. We used caramel, almonds, pecans, white & milk chocolate drizzle and Oh Henry bars to decorate the apples with. Each guest made two apples and most couldn't wait to get home to share it with their man! How romantic.

Mine on the other hand was gone before the night was over! It was absolutely delicious.

So, tonight I dipped apples and wrapped them up for my closest neighbors. Each family received two gourmet caramel apples, a special Christmas card and invitation to our Open House this weekend. Those with very young children also received a completely edible candy wreath!

I delivered two of the packages tonight. Neighbor #1 was so appreciative to receive an early *fun* gift. Neighbor #2 just couldn't believe that I had made them myself. I was reminded again that it is much more blessed to give than to receive!

So here is what you've been waiting for..... pictures of the apples for Neighbor #3. She'll be getting these in the morning.

It's fun to have such good neighbors. I love to make them treats from time to time. In fact, Neighbor #2 and I often exchange cookies & treats across the backyard fence (when there's no snow!)

I hope you had a nice visit here and just perhaps you were inspired to reach out to someone in your neighborhood. To quote a famous song, "Peace on earth, goodwill toward men." Merry Christmas!
